From Charles Spira | Part of the Love the French Way series | 05:29

Exotic_woman_small In 1986 the Algerian singer Khaled moved to France.  He was already famous in Algeria as a performer of rai music.  In France he quickly gained acceptance within the North African community.  After a joint appearance with Jean-jacques Goldman on a TV program, he asks the latter to write a song for him.  Goldman complied and wrote the love song Aicha which deals with a topic much discussed among the young offspring of North African immigrants:  the status of women in their society.

A 'scary' entry in the First Draft playhouse series

Halloween07shot_small The First Draft Playhouse series started in the summer of 2007. The premise is simple, stories in there first incarnation frequently have false starts and numerous ?do-overs?. So what if the audience could hear those do-overs being made? In this Halloween edition of this comedy series, two teenagers duck out of the storm in a spooky house. Recorded before a live audience.
