WUSM

WUSM is a 3000-watt public radio station located on the campus of The University of Southern Mississippi. We have a compartmentalized broadcast day, generally providing music, news, and information programming to our 150,000-plus potential listeners throughout South Mississippi.

Our broadcasting capabilities now extend worldwide with two separate internet feeds: one of our live signal and a second on-demand alternative rock radio station (WUSM2, introduced April 1, 1999). Technically, we broadcast with the latest in digital equipment for broadcasting, production, and live/remote broadcast needs. We have introduced a new live production room (March, 1999), where we produce a weekly, live public affairs program, WUSM Live, as well as live broadcasts of Roots Reunion and University Forum. WUSM started production on several programs and interview segments. We hope to first use the internet to distribute them and then offer them to other radio stations for broadcast.
