Beyond a Song with host Rich Reardin. Rich hosts this extraordinary weekly radio series that features discussions with World Class musicians, producers, audio engineers, etc., about their lives and making music. Beyond a Song first appeared in 2005 with the original series "In Search of a Song" with host Jason Wilber (John Prine's longtime lead guitarist). Beyond a Song would like to mention here our profound sadness at the passing of John Prine, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Jason Wilber lent infinite support to the show theme, it's original production, and concept. His work with John Prine for a quarter of a century inspired the interest in talking with musical guests about the art of songwriting. Heretofore, our show is dedicated to John Prine and Jason Wilber, and continues to be inspired by their lives and music. Specifically this show highlights the guest artist's early musical experiences and influences, their creative process, and the stories behind some of their songs. Beyond a Song also explores the lives of others who contribute to the making of music through recording, producing, or audio engineering. Most pieces in the series are "Evergreen" and can be played any time.

Each program will contain music performed live. Many “Modular Synthesists” create their music just one time as the set-up for a piece might take several months to complete and once it’s played and recorded they move on to the set-up for their next piece. These live recordings are truly one of a kind performances and I look forward to bringing them to you. Go beyond the normal, travel into the dreamland and discover new worlds and realities.

The goal of creating this special COVID-19 series is to shine a spotlight on all of the wonderfully important nonprofits and their staff that support our community in ways that we may not even be aware of. We hope that our series will provide a platform for these important voices to share what services they provide and how they are struggling to deal with the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic on their operations, services and sustainability.
