Salt Lick Sessions

The Salt Lick Incubator is a nonprofit organization driving a virtuous cycle: Helping artists get discovered while helping fans discover artists. Key to our mission, the Salt Lick Sessions are an artist-hosted radio and video series that takes listeners on a nationwide music discovery tour featuring over 50 diverse emerging artists a year.

The Salt Lick Sessions launched as a radio series in the fall of 2023 on WERS 88.9 FM in Boston. The program is a co-production of the Salt Lick Incubator, a nonprofit supporting diverse emerging artists, and WERS.

Hosted by artist Beane (American Idol, The Ellen Degeneres Show) each hour is packed with music from emerging and established artists, their influences, and their favorite finds. Music and interviews flow seamlessly to form vibrant artist portraits packed with discoveries for both casual and deep listeners. Featured artists include Lizzy McAlpine, Tank and the Bangas, Tiny Habits, Lucius, Lawrence, Sammy Rae and The Friends and many more.

Convenient clock: All shows are 59 minutes long with a 60-second billboard at the top, five-minute optional Newscast-compatible cutaway, and 60-second break (floating) at the midpoint of the show. Timings and cues as well as SoundExchange song data and social media images are provided per program.
