The Age of Being Real features stories about people who have found their unique path in life, at any age.

Stories about people of all ages following their unique path in life. They sometimes resist social and financial pressures from well-intentioned friends and family who encourage them to make "more reasonable" choices. The inspiration for "The Age of Being Real" is from the 1922 children's classic "The Velveteen Rabbit" by Margery Williams, about a nursery toy that becomes a real rabbit, learning that despite being worn and shabby, one who is truly loved "cannot be ugly, except to those who don't understand."
