Series produced by WDCB
Internationally acclaimed jazz pianist Patricia Barber hosts WDCB’s three-part series “MusicHeads,” recorded in the acoustically pristine PianoForte Studios in downtown Chicago. Each show explores a different musical theme and can be used as a 3 part series or as stand alone pieces. These FREE programs are suitable for airing any time of year, but would fit nicely into Women's History or Jazz Appreciation month programming.
Internationally acclaimed jazz pianist Patricia Barber hosts WDCB’s three-part series “MusicHeads,” recorded in the acoustically pristine PianoForte Studios in downtown Chicago. Each show explores a different musical theme, as Ms. Barber and guest musicians explore "The Piano as Percussion," visit the floor of music with "The Double Bass," and address the question "What is Swing?"
The three shows are made possible in part by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency, with generous support from PianoForte Chicago.
Guests for "What is Swing?" are Bassist Larry Kohut, Drummer Jon Deitemyer, and Jim Gaillereto on Tenor Sax.
Guests for "Piano as Percussion" are Amy Briggs and Lisa Kaplan.
Guests for "The Double Bass" are Jazz Double Bassist Patrick Mulcahy and Classical Bassist Andy Anderson.
