Peace Mural in Belfast

A series of five reports investigating the state of reconciliation and peace-building in Northern Ireland after the 'Good Friday' or 'Belfast' Agreement of 1998.

A series of five reports investigating the state of reconciliation and peace-building in Northern Ireland after the 'Good Friday' or 'Belfast' Agreement of 1998. The first two episodes show some of the remarkable work being done at street level across communities that were in violent conflict for decades, led by former enemies now working together. The remaining three episodes look at the serious problems they still face, the wider political process they say is letting them down, and their fears and hopes for the future.

The reports are presented by political journalist Peter Geoghegan, who was born close to the Border, writes regularly on Irish affairs and now lives in Scotland. The series was produced and editorially directed by Square Dog Radio LLP. It was financially supported by the N Ireland Community Relations Council but any views expressed are not necessarily those of the CRC. Hide full description
