In your broadcast day, what's your most memorable two minutes of radio?
This month's 100-second modules include two Pulitzer-winning authors, and diverse books -- from ballet to physics to a lost puppy to Turkey to midlife musings to IBM's Watson to numerous fiction books, and more. Help your listeners find their next great read! ...And as they say, we are all writers but we are not all authors: Authors have something to say beyond the ordinary.
Gives you an instant web site feature daily: Just grab the blurb and photo from our site and post the audio. Done.
We mailed our March CD of readings to a large sampling of stations (250); happy to mail you one, too, just ask.
For listeners, there's a sense of day-to-day discovery here. And this series may fit part of your mission to celebrate the arts and serve listeners with... 'many voices, many views, changing daily,' in the founding spirit of public broadcasting. The Author's Corner, a fast-acquired 100-second habit, hooks listeners each day with a new voice painting fresh images. The content is always family friendly, and we don't do phoners.
These 21 readings correspond to the 21 weekdays in March. They've been sequenced for day-to-day variety. You may start airing these modules any time of the month. We'd love your feedback.
Also, an invitation to stations: We welcome submissions of recorded readings by your best regional authors for mixing into our national distribution. In such cases, it's a smooth process: You identify the authors and put us in touch, then we can do all the communicating and preparation with the authors by phone, and give you our recording specs prior to their studio visit. Then send us their audio file and we'll take it from there, thanks.
The Author's Corner Team: East Coast-based Peter Johnson, a past producer at WGBH-Boston, and a former radio program director, is also the creator/producer of two previous nationwide radio series. He has a liberal arts background (Williams College) with masters degrees in business and communications.
West Coast-based Steven Carlson is a veteran on-air personality, program manager, and executive at media outlets nationwide, including top posts with Minnesota Public Radio, the Classical Public Radio Network in Los Angeles, and InstantEncore.com (founding member). He is active in broadcast and other media consulting. Hide full description
