Joe Bev hosts an hour of vintage Jazz

Jazz-O-Rama is an hour of the lighter side of early jazz--presented by Joe Bevilacqua (Joe Bev)--remastered from his personal 78rpm record collection.

Each show can be used as special or run in a series. Great for fundraising.

Each show has a theme and includes personnel and historical background on each record, between 1920 and 1969.

Joe Bev has been producing radio in many genres since 1971 when he was twelve. At 19 in 1980, Bev became the youngest person to produce a radio show for public radio. He co-hosted The Jazz Show with Garret Gega in the early 80s, a four hour a week mix classic jazz and comedy. Bev also worked for WBGO, Jazz 88 in Newark, NJ and produced documentaries for WNYC New York Public Radio on jazz legends including Louis Armstrong, Wynton Marsalis, Count Basie, Woody Herman, Cab Calloway, and Lionel Hampton.

WEZU, Geneva Community Radio and Radio New Zealand have picked up our Jazz-O-Rama series!

John Pilley, Music Production Manager,Radio New Zealand National said:
“I really enjoyed listening to your programme and look forward to offering these to our nation-wide audience. They cover a period and type of jazz that seems to be overlooked these days, at least in our radio programming, and it will be great to re-acquaint or introduce this music to our listeners. By the time I got to ep 3: Duelling Clarinets and it was distracting me from other work, I knew we had to have a series.”

George Campbell WEZU said that The Jazz-O-Rama Hour “would be a great asset to our station and listeners.”

Jason Longwell, Station Manager, Geneva Community Radio said "I think this program would be a great addition to our schedule..." Hide full description
