A collection of diverse tales told in 1962 by a Dublin heart doctor.
T.C.J. "Bob" O'Connell was a surgeon -- a heart specialist, in fact -- whose working life spanned some five decades of Irish medical history. Bob was also a wonderful storyteller who managed to commingle stories from his career with fairy tales that were still common in the west of Ireland as recently as the 1960s. TALES OF AN IRISH M.D. brings together stories from O'Connell's work as a Dublin surgeon in World War II and tales garnered from his days fishing out in west.
The stories will be available both individually and in an hour-long collection. The original tape was recorded in 1962 and has been scrubbed a wee bit for this series.
