I'm an audio storyteller who has spent the past three years covering complex topics like mental health issues, the opioid epidemic, trauma and rural healthcare as a podcast producer, host, writer and editor.

In February 2020, I completed Transom's public radio production traveling workshop with Rob Rosenthal at WPLN. Last year, Report for America selected me as a 2019-2020 corps finalist and member of the RFA Journalist Network. My previous relevant experience includes work as a copy editor, a photographer/videographer and a freelance feature writer for Nashville's daily newspaper, The Tennessean.

After growing up in Nebraska, Colorado and Illinois, I moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where I graduated from Belmont University and worked as a professional songwriter and recording/touring musician. Hide full description

The Sandwich: A Love Story

From David Condos | 06:51

According to the USDA, nearly half of all the American adults listening to this story right now will eat a sandwich today. So, how has this simple arrangement of bread, meat, and vegetables become such a big part of our lives? And why do we care so much about it?

A sandwich at one of Nashville's most popular restaurants was recently named the best in America. So, I set up outside their storefront to find out if Americans have strong opinions about sandwiches. Turns out, we do.

This piece explores America's relationship with this food staple through the voices of sandwich-eaters from across the country.

I recorded the vox pop interviews for this story as part of the Transom workshop with Rob Rosenthal and Meribah Knight at WPLN in 2020.

In North Nashville, Line Dancing Becomes A Lifeline Out Of Isolation For Senior Citizens

From David Condos | 05:06

Before the pandemic, a group of older Nashvillians founded a free line dancing class at the Hadley Park Community Center. The bonds they’ve formed there have helped them overcome the health issues and isolation that many seniors experience. And now, support from this community is giving the dancers strength to face the uncertainty of this year.
