I was the “lucky” News Director of KPFA in Berkeley at the time, who received the first communiqués, demands and the first “hostage tape” of Patty ( mom, dad, I’m okay…) The program includes excerpts of Patty Hearst hostage tapes mixed with excerpts of a musical piece based on those tapes .....other music...plus old recollections and 2024 thoughts on the nature of political violence then and now..in the time of Trump.
