Sudan Radio Project
- Location: Swarthmore, Pennsylvania
The Sudan Radio Project is a monthly radio broadcast that explores the historical, political, economic, and social contexts of the conflict in Darfur and Sudan. We seek to provide an alternative to the sensationalized and oversimplified media coverage of the conflict by incorporating the first-hand experiences of those living and working in the region. Instead of speaking for Sudanese, we strive to present their own stories in their own voices. In addition, we produce analytic pieces focused on larger political, economic, and social aspects to the conflict. The Sudan Radio Project adheres to strictly journalistic standards of reporting; we do not advocate a particular response to the conflict. Nevertheless, we hope that by connecting advocates to those on whose behalf they are working, we can help create a more meaningful dialogue surrounding this intensely important issue.
