Your reaction to this incident, and especially your wife's, show your two littles girls the importance you place on appearances, particularly nice hair. Being a little more matter of fact and not yelling so much would have gone a long way in helping your children develop a healthy attitude about their appearance.
Given your reaction to your kids "bad" hair, how much tolerance are they going to show to another little girl who, perhaps has hair not as nice as their own? Will this surprise you?
