The 6 part special series from January to December 2023 will leverage and continue Voices of the Community's three-year 105-episode [featuring 27 Arts & Culture Organizations] series on Covid-19’s Impact on Nonprofits and BAVC Media’s SF Commons' one-year plus experience in producing the series "SF Nonprofit Spotlight" that Voices of the Community helped produce the first episodes for. These two series have created awareness, focusing on the Covid-19 Pandemic’s impact on our nonprofits, small businesses, and local government along with greater support by the general public, funders, and local government.

I grew up in Stockton, California, which filed for bankruptcy in 2013 and was named the most miserable cities in the U.S. not once by twice by Forbes magazine. Stockton has a long history of bad management, crony politics and corrupt leaders. Ironically, the bankruptcy of the City has provided an opportunity for City Leaders and residents to clear away the wreckage of the past and reinvent Stockton.

The goal of creating this special COVID-19 series is to shine a spotlight on all of the wonderfully important nonprofits and their staff that support our community in ways that we may not even be aware of. We hope that our series will provide a platform for these important voices to share what services they provide and how they are struggling to deal with the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic on their operations, services and sustainability.
