Destination Freedom is a provocative half-hour show that highlights the lives and accomplishments of prominent African Americans.

This series is a new recording of the original Destination Freedom series, produced by Donnie L. Betts/No Credits Production. The original Destination Freedom premiered on June 27, 1948 on Chicago radio station WMAQ. It consisted of ninety-one different scripts written solely by Richard Durham. Destination Freedom was a provocative half-hour show that highlighted the lives and accomplishments of prominent African Americans. It appeared a decade before Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Civil Rights movement, but still managed to portray a positive vision for blacks.
