KKFI is a 100,000 watt non-commercial radio station operated by Mid-Coast Radio Project, Inc., a 501 C (3) not-for-profit corporation, and serves the entire Kansas City area and surrounding region. As the area's only listener-supported, independent radio station, KKFI depends greatly on tax-deductible contributions from listeners for operating income. KKFI celebrated 15 year's of serving the community in 2003.
