These stories were produced by Rebecca Sheir as reporter packages for "Iowa Confronts Today's Global Threats," a special edition of WSUI AM910's call-in talk show, "Talk of Iowa." Presented on Wednesday, May 18, 2005, and hosted by Steve Martin, the program was part of the Public Radio Collaboration "Think Global" week, a public radio project focusing on America's role in the world. The first story takes the listener to New York City's Union Square Park, where we hear the myths and misconceptions that New Yorkers possess when it comes to Iowa; through ensuing actualities from such Iowan notables as World Food Prize Presidents, Ambassador Kenneth Quinn, we then learn the truth about the great Hawkeye State.
