El Puerto Rico, the Rich Port, are two one-hour programs from New England Public Media featuring new works by Puerto Rican composers. Each of the programs feature six new compositions performed by the Victory Players, a sextet of young musicians from around-the-country. The program is perfect for Latino Heritage Month and for stations offering contemporary chamber music from young composers. Stations may air one or both programs as they can stand alone.

El Puerto Rico, the Rich Port, are two one-hour programs from New England Public Media featuring new works by Puerto Rican composers. Each of the programs feature six new compositions performed by the Victory Players, a sextet of young musicians from around-the-country. All of the compositions were commissioned by the Massachusetts International Festival of the Arts for the Victory Players and explore the themes of personal and cultural identity as well as the rich musical heritage of Puerto Rico.

The program is perfect for Latino Heritage Month and for stations offering contemporary chamber music from young composers.

The programs are:

El Puerto Rico: The Identity Duets features five duet performances by members of the Victory Players and one piece for the full ensemble.

El Puerto Rico: The Rich Port features six performances for the full ensemble recorded at the Fraser Performance Studio at WGBH in Boston.

Identity Duets is 58:56 with 44 minutes of music and The Rich Port is 59:00 with 46 minutes of music. There are no internal breaks in the programs.

Both programs are hosted by Tianhui Ng, Music Director of the Victory Players and include brief comments on each of the pieces by the composers.
