For those who regularly listen to, and or download BackTracking, I apologize for not posting any new shows in the last month. I've been sick lately and may not get better. But for now I am hear (misspelling intended) and will do as much as I can to return to uploading weekly shows for your edification. Thanks - TGR

Gladly making generous donations to those stations downloading the second hour. There are no time hacks on any of the programs. They can be aired anytime without a need for time syncs with your local clock.

About the show - Classic Rock with a twist - No song repeats for one year and a weekly featured artist. The DJ rarely talks, except to fill time at the end of an hour. BackTracking can run either two or three hours. If you only need two hours don't download the second hour (for which there is the minimum PRX charge). I almost always have the most recent edition of BackTracking posted to PRX by the Tuesday morning (MST). BT Replay shows include, for free, the second hour, but all three hours have been edited together without commentary, essentially 175 minutes of continuous music.

Nearly 25 years ago BackTracking was launched at a small town commercial radio station. I loved playing the music, but hated the commercial platform. BackTracking is a return to great days of FM radio heard decades ago; short breaks (two minutes each hour), long songs and DJs who knew more about the music they were playing than I did.

There are hundreds of Classic Rock stations today, but for the most part they are all streamed from one or two syndicated programs. They have more noise than music, and DJs who have as much personality as unsweetened oatmeal and wouldn't know a 45 from a 12" lp, let alone the speed each played at.

I do my best not to play a song a second time for at least a year, checking every week's play list against Spinitron's previous 52 weeks' of BT playlists. Every song is "leveled" so as to provide even playback volumes despite original recording levels. Any song knowingly containing profanity has been edited for airplay.

I will happily provide station specific promos for BackTracking, just email me at thegregariousrecluse.krza@gmail.com once BackTracking has a time slot in a station's programming calendar. Please provide a script so I don't have to make any assumptions which might be incorrect. Hide full description
