Laura Flanders & Friends (formerly The Laura Flanders Show) is a forward-looking public affairs series, combining original investigative reporting with in-depth interviews with diverse, often grassroots leaders who are driving forward-thinking change in the worlds of arts, business, civic life and social justice.

Laura Flanders & Friends reaches out to public television’s and community radio’s underserved audiences with solutions-oriented journalism. The program combines original reporting with in-depth analysis, singular perspectives, and rare interviews with people who are driving forward-thinking change in the worlds of arts, business, civic life and social justice. Topics are presented in an easy-to-understand way with the help of the latest graphics and visual explainers. Each show concludes with a thoughtful commentary.

The upcoming season (kicking off April 10th, 2024) promises to explore how towns are addressing inequality, reimagining public safety, and expanding democracy leading up to the November elections. Stay tuned for pre- and post-election coverage where guests dive into the most pressing issues on the ballot this year — including our economy, labor and immigration.

Interviewees coming up include Angela Davis discussing her latest book, Stacy Mitchell, Co-Executive Director of the Institute for Local Self-Reliance and author Matt Stoller on anti-trust action, and a special, sisterly episode with Stephanie Flanders, the head of Economics and Politics at Bloomberg and Bloomberg Economics.

Past interviewees include Public Enemy frontman Chuck D on the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop and an exclusive one-on-one with best-selling author Naomi Klein along with in-depth investigative reporting from North Carolina, Louisiana and Idaho. Hide full description
