Folk Salad- Certified Organic Music is an eclectic mix of Americana, Folk (contemporary and traditional), singer/songwriter, roots music, blues and bluegrass with a healthy portion of songs, past and present from Oklahoma's own Tulsa sound and Red Dirt Music, that spans from Woody Guthrie and Bob Wills to Leon Russell and J. J. Cale to present day Okies like John Fulbright, Parker Millsap, John Moreland, and J. D. McPherson.
Scott Aycock and Richard Higgs, your hosts, are honored to be bringing you this rich tradition of great songs since 1999. Folk Salad also features from time to time in-studio interviews and performances as well as phone interviews with artists. We have interviewed and had into our studio artists like Levon Helm, Malcolm Holcombe, Peter Case, Darrell Scott, Wanda Jackson, Samantha Crain, and Billy Joe Shaver to mention a few.
With the Woody Guthrie Archives and now The Bob Dylan archives being housed in Tulsa, and with the rich heritage already mentioned Tulsa is poised to become one of the premier music cities in the country and Folk Salad is proud to be a part of it all and serve you up some tasty songs each week.
