Dictionary Head entertains as it educates! Great for parents and kids! It is a one-minute rhyming quiz, fun for ages 8 – 80 with an innovative and fun way to educate! Every show tests a listener’s knowledge of “advanced and innovative words”. A valuable radio spot for educators, parents, grandparents, and kids with many words from the SAT list plus more. Dictionary Head is an educational game for everyone!
Provided for your listeners is a companion website, www.dictionaryhead.net, to compliment this show. In addition to the audio broadcast, the website has tools that aid in retaining a word’s meaning.
The way the game is played:
The show provides a 4-line rhyming riddle (through poetry) for a vocabulary word and the listener gets to select the right answer from 3 choices. Then the answer along with the actual definition is provided. along with a 2-line rhyme. For children playing the game there is not only a verbal definition, but the word is also used in a rhymed couplet to help them remember its meaning.
Research has found that the larger your vocabulary is the more likely you will be successful in career and school.
