The Kalb Report focuses on democracy, the press, and public policy with a series of forums at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

The series, moderated by Marvin Kalb, is jointly produced by the George Washington University Global Media Insitute, Harvard University, and the National Press Club and is underwritten by Ethics and Excellence in Journalism Foundation.

The George Washington University, Harvard University, and the National Press Club have produced 70 forums in the The Kalb Report series since 1994. This highly acclaimed public affairs series is hosted by the distinguished journalist/scholar Marvin Kalb. Through one-on-one interviews and panel discussions emanating from the main ballroom of the National Press Club before audiences comprising several hundred students and professionals, Kalb explores topics at the intersection of press, politics, and public policy. Guests have included Katie Couric, Christiane Amanpour, Walter Cronkite, Jim Lehrer, U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton, former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes, Nobel Prize winner Eli Wiesel and documentary filmmaker Ken Burns.

The series is distributed by Oklahoma Educational Television Authority and American Public Television and is seen on local public television stations across the country with additional airings on New England Cable News. The series also airs nationally on Sirius-XM Satellite Radio and in Washington, D.C. on Federal News Radio (1500-AM).

The executive producer of The Kalb Report series is Michael Freedman, executive director of GW Global Media Institute and professor of media and public affairs. The director of the series is Robert Vitarelli, a 39-year CBS News veteran. The producer is Heather Date, a GW alumna and former CNN producer, and the associate producer is GW graduate student Meaghan Calnan.

In June 2004, the Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters Association named The Kalb Report "Best Public Affairs Program" on radio in the Washington, D.C. region.
