Music Mountain 2009 Chamber Music Concerts

Music Mountain is the home of the oldest continuing summer chamber music festival in this country. Founded in 1930 as the permanent home for the Gordon String Quartet, one of the leading string quartets of its time, Music Mountain is celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2009. Each season we offer a Chamber Music Series of 16 concerts with an additional 10 concerts as highlights from past seasons. Stations may run all 26 as a series or license the ones they wish to put into the number of available dates. The 2009 season's theme is "Looking to the Future, Honoring the Past."

The concerts are produced into self contained programs lasting 1 hour 56 minutes with the first being available approximately July 1 and successive concerts available weekly. If the concert is shorter than the 1 hour 56 minutes, all or part of a piece from a past season is included as an "historic encore." (The narration is such that the concert could be ended before the historic encore if desired, resulting in a variable length for each concert.)
