Each week, CoffeehouseRadio broadcasts an hour long radio program with music from some of today's finest singers and songwriters. Many of the names of the artists will be familiar; but, some might be new to you and to your listeners.

The show is for adults - 35-54 probably more male than female, educated - probably some college or graduates, white-collar, suburban dwelling. They have a natural curiosity and a love for music - an emotional connection to music. They seek out non-mainstream music and have outgrown today's alternative music scene but grew up on the 'alternative', 'progressive', 'modern rock' of the late 80's and 90s.

One of my show's in-show bumpers between songs is "It's someone who loves music, playing the music that he loves for people who love music."

CoffeehouseRadio is about the music. It?s often grouped by a similar characteristic (i.e. collaborating players/singers, similar content themes, etc). It?s left of the left-of-center that many public radio shows musically - meaning I play some acoustic singers and songwriters that the other shows find too 'light' or 'acoustic'. In some ways, it?s a throwback to the original rock stations in the early 70s that had DJs who pieced songs together themselves that made a musical fabric for the listener.

One desire is to connect the new with the old - the admission that their has been music like this for 50 years and it all can blend together. A thoughtful song from 1973 and exist next to a thoughtful song form 2008. As a radio geek, familiarity builds time-spent-listening. I don't want to be so unfamiliar that I lose audience.

The one hour show comes in three 16-18 minute segments. Download and use all 3 for about 58 minutes per week. Hide full description
