Series produced by Sarah Elzas

Ever wonder what contemporary music composers are thinking when they compose their music? Here's your chance to find out

These are audio portraits of seven pieces that were performed as part of the Transonic Arts concert series on September 24, 2005, in New York. These portraits were created to further the series' goal of exposing audiences and the composers themselves to the variety of material that makes up "contemporary" music and sound art. In each 1.5 to 2 minute profile, the composers explain who they are and one or two of the ideas behind their pieces.
