Brick met up with the boys from Hippo Campus when they played outside of Cincinnati. He chatted with lead singer Jake Luppen and drummer Whistler Allen and found out a bit about their grueling but rewarding tour. Part of The Song Show's occasional "New Kids on the Rock" series.

Blues legend and immaculate singer/songwriter Doug Macleod dropped into The Song Show by way of the WC Handy Blues and Barbecue Festival in Henderson, KY. Brick coaxed him into a steaming production van and they had a great chat. Brick features tracks from some of his favorite troubadours.

We met up with Jaden Carlson backstage at Lovett Auditorium on the campus of Murray State University. She charmed with her talent and fun sensibilities. This 14 year old guitar wiz has some wonderful insights into her career. We listen to some songs by noted child prodigies.

Brick drops in on singer/songwriter/blues afficionado Jason Fickel in his Bloomington, Indiana rehearsal space and they talk about the Blues, Hee Haw and Burt Bacharach.

Brick met guitar and songwriting sensation Molly Tuttle at the International Bluegrass Music Museum in Owensboro, KY. Not only did she put on an amazing set, but she gave Brick a few minutes to chat about the music in her life. Plus we'll hear some songs by artists he has come across recently in his travels around the Northeast.

Brick and Johnny Hickman met at Lincoln Amphitheater in Southern Indiana and talked about his 25 year career in the music industry. Plus we hear some of the iconic songs Hickman has crafted during that time.

Jayme Stone's Lomax Project performed an intimate concert in New Harmony, Indiana as part of the Under the Beams Concert Series. The Song Show was there to record what went down. Plus, Brick had a chance to chat with Jayme Stone. Stone's Lomax Project mines the depths of Alan Lomax' field recordings of 35,000 pieces of music throughout North America. The repertoire includes Bahamian sea chanties, African-American a cappella singing from the Georgia Sea Islands, ancient Appalachian ballads, fiddle tunes, and work songs collected from both well-known musicians and everyday folk.

Elli Perry came to the show from a friend. K Phillips‘ manager Austin sent in the pre-release tracks for her upcoming LP “Little Thieves” and Brick immediately made plans to run down to Nashville to meet her. Brick headed down to Nashville to conduct 5 interviews in about 6 hours. Taking trusted friend Ron Rhodes (TV Weather Guy) to keep him company and shoot some video. Elli rose to the occasion. Brick and she made a connection and from the interview yoll know he had the best time learning about her story. Which, by the way, you’ll need to listen to the program to hear. But it is worth the time!
