The story features Disney historian Tom Fitzgerald of Walt Disney Imagineering and the ghoulish ghosts of the Haunted Mansion.
Millions of people from around the world have ridden the ride, which opened August 9, 1969. It paved the way for an afterlife, of sorts. Imagineers eventually created similar haunted mansion rides at Walt Disney World in Florida, at Tokyo Disneyland in Japan and at Disneyland Paris in France.
