This is a fascinating piece for the connoisseur, the neophyte, and everyone in between.
The music is enjoyable, the commentary revelatory, relaxed, and informative. The feel is a bit like being listening in on two friends just swapping appreciative comments and pertinent anecdotes while listening to music they both love. It's never esoteric nor exclusive, just great fun listening while you actually learn something.
A throwback in more ways than one. Crumb's quirky expression and presence itself is from another era. When he speaks about the music he's not so much erudite as knowledgable out of pure and intense passion. The music (Crumb's personal collection) is wonderfully recherche, the format companionable. Excellent tribute for this official year of the blues and beyond. vm

Great Piece!
Thoroughly enjoyed this, including the chance to hear some stuff I hadn't heard before! Fabulous! Is there going to be more?
