A 15-minute masterpiece! What a richly constructed soundscape. I am a sucker for this type of radio work where actuality does it all. It's like the piece has found the perfect producer. You will recognize, or may not, some of the voices and incidents in the collage. In short, 'Sit Perfectly Still' is a film customized for each listener. Just brilliant!

This piece is like California jazz, Blade Runner style. I can hear it on Studio 360 with a theme on ambience or as a stand alone on Hearts of Space or Infinite Mind in a program entitled, "Nuances of Passing Through/Walking Past: What an Artist hears in an everyday". Reading the program guide for American Routes out of Louisiana, I wonder if this would even work there? (I've not heard the program as it's not on my local stations in New York.)
An interesting pastiche of L.A. life. I've only visited L.A. once, and that was 7 years ago, but the diverse sound sources and non-narrative approach here agreed with the feelings I've carried about the city in general. I think this piece would be just as powerful if it were trimmed in half.

A collage of sights, sounds and interviews in Los Angeles that give a real strong impression of the diversity found on the streets. Could be used as an unusual This American Life piece but could also be edited for a News or Hearts of Space piece on diverse cultures living together.
