Larry Josephson has been a public radio host, producer, engineer and manager for over 55 years. He spent 18 years at WBAI, New York and KPFA, Berkeley as grumpy morning host, assistant manager, and station manager. Forty years ago he started the Radio Foundation, a non-profit, public radio production company. Since 1982, The Foundation has been the home of the beloved American humorists Bob & Ray, who were on radio, television, and in films, books and commercials for sixty years. We've produced and market CDs and mp3 files on a flash drive containing 90 hours of Bob & Ray routines on the RadioArt® label. Larry produced four Bob & Ray public radio series, and two sold-out concerts in Carnegie Hall. He won a Peabody Award and three Grammy Nominations for his work with Bob & Ray. www.bobandray.com. We produced an eight-part series, "ONLY IN AMERICA: The Story of American Jews," released in October, 2006. www.onlyinamerica.info. Also, "What Is Judaism," nine conversations with Rabbi Ismar Schorsch, Chancellor Emeritus of the Jewish Theological Seminary, about the history and liturgy of the Jewish holidays, including specials about Passover, Hanukkah and the High Holy Days that have been heard on public radio stations nationwide since 1999. www.whatisajew.org. The Radio Foundation operates a high-quality ISDN studio, complete with an NPR-quality floating room, Neumann U87 and TLM 103 mics and a ProTools editing and mixing suite. The facility is available for rent for ISDN two-ways, tape syncs and tracking. It is used by NPR, public radio stations, BBC, ABC (Australia) and many others. www.radioartstudio.com
