Review of Rediscovering Europe with Rick Steves Segments (deleted)
Hey, Michael's review sure gives a good lead in for what might otherwise be a shameless promotional pitch!
Indeed, as of April 2005, Rick Steves **is** now hosting a weekly one-hour public radio talk show on travel destinations and issues - and it's not limited to European topics. "Travel with Rick Steves" is formatted to the NPR clock, can be aired whenever it works on a local station's schedule, and is available free of charge.
I'm the producer, and we're just beginning to promote it, with several stations who are already happy affiliates. As is true of Rick's "back door" approach to travel for authentic experience, it's being produced and distributed in-house
along similar lines to what Content Depot will offer - and we hope with the degree of professionalism and appeal to listeners' core values you'd get from any network-produced weekly program.
We would certainly like to get the feedback of our public radio collegues on what we're produced so far.
