About Me

Michelle Boyd is a writer, scholar, and audio producer whose work explores social injustice in America. Using nonfiction storytelling techniques and ethnographic research methods, she creates text and audio accounts of racial inequality that are intellectually rigourous, emotionally compelling, and widely accessible.

Michelle is currently the Associate Director of Programs at the Institute for Research on Race & Public Policy at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She also holds faculty appointments in the departments of African American studies and political science.
