maybe it's just that time of year? the passing of ravi shankar, and some other great musical souls, seems to have me thinking.... yes, of death. which is always around those in life. eerie, ghoulish, sure to stir up them listeners.
This audio vignette is as moving, and well crafted, as the movie itself - a fitting tribute to the work of both producers! The use of both sound and as well, the girls' voices (? from the soundtrack?), is not contrived or false but fits perfectly. This is a must listen, and you'll probably want to end up using it. Fits for many themes (womens issues, gender, charitable causes).
wow, I listen to Franti's music but didn't know of the roots. Stumbled across this piece when searching for black history month material, and this really makes it. Live, rockin', informative!
as soon as they let me i'm putting this baby on the air. while it's keyed to the last GOP convention in NYC, it's themes are timeless and the commentary is so subtle you might think some will miss it, but that's exactly the attraction of karen's work. don't miss out!
