A Holiday for Swinging

This series of one hour programs celebrates Christmas with classic and current holiday jazz recordings along with a touch of blues, and a few other surprises.

Dan Polletta, longtime jazz programmer for 90.3 WCPN-Cleveland/ideastream is your host for this fun and moving trip through a musical winter wonderland which includes selections from Duke Ellington, Ken Peplowski, Marian McPartland, Eric Reed, Bill Cunliffe, Ella Ftizgerald and more. Dan curated WCPN/ ideastream's "Swingin' Sounds of the Season" a 24 hour a day holiday music stream for the web from 2012-1019.

There are two versions of each show. There is a stand-alone show with no breaks. There is also a segmented version with billboard, room for news and two floating 30 second breaks with music beds.

Each "A Holiday for Swinging" program can air as a stand- alone show leading up to the Christmas Day or could be played back to back as a perfect Christmas Day series. The shows are evergreens (no pun intended) so they can air each year Hide full description
