Your music history.

Music 101 is part music/part history lesson with your teacher and host Margot Chobanian. Every week, she highlights a different chapter in music history. Margot, a self-proclaimed “music and history nerd” digs deeper into the music and tells you the story behind the songs you know and love. “I have so much fun putting together Music 101! Context creates a deeper connection to the music. I love sharing that with Music 101 listeners,” says Chobanian.

Margot dives into the history of music and explores how music and history both affect one another while highlighting topics like The Wrecking Crew, banned and censored songs, the Civil Rights Movement, CBGB's, the Hammond organ in Rock, and much more. For more information please visit Music 101.

The program is available to all stations from the PRX Exchange and is free for two years if picked up by July, 2019 Hide full description
