This is a show for stations looking to add SOMETHING NEW AND DIFFERENT (musically speaking)-by having all Modern Blues as part of their Blues offerings. Jerry is a lover of all Blues music, and on this show the focus is to support the Artists that are out working hard in today's Blues scene. Why feature today's Artist's, and not the early masters? Today's players, whether they're young, or living Blues legends are releasing some great new music. They work hard mainly for the love and preservation of this great music style. This show is presented to show that the Blues are still alive and well, and-that the Blues are also a very diverse genre that has something to offer most any music lover. AND-I want to encourage artists to keep on recording their music. On this show, you'll hear anything from new Blues recorded on vintage equipment, to Blues on the cutting edge of the genre, and when mixed well, it makes for a good variety show. It has something for fans looking to hear new music from a favorite artist, or discover something new.
Also, this show has a grassroots, locally produced feel to it. It's truly about the music-not the host. Jerry D will tell you what you've heard, and from what album, but he wants the listener to go out on their own, to have their own "Blues Journey". Jerry also maintains a Facebook Page in conjunction with the show titled "Blues For Modern Times", and puts his playlists out there for listeners to see.
