Fighting for a Piece of Mud –

Marie lives in rural Southwest Louisiana with her longtime friend Lorleen and boyfriend Harlan. Set in the late 1960’s Marie finds out by accident after her father died that the 2 and half acres of land she was promised all her life is being hijacked by her relatives – 17 lawyers to be exact. Through her exploits and carrying on, we follow Marie through the backwoods and crawfish fields of the rural area she loves, to hear her side of the story.

Marie’s Heritage
I grew up in the back bayou of Southwest Louisiana. I am from a land of mud feet where we sink ever deeper from the weight of the sludge that comes down the river. I live in the back woods where we grow sugar cane 12 feet tall, harvest rice in 3 feet of water and eat anything that crawls out of there in between seasons.
