A Night on the Town celebrates the American Musical, bringing you the best of Broadway with back stories and songs.

"A Night on the Town" is a one-hour weekly radio program celebrating the American Musical, produced and hosted by George Harter. This show provides insights into the history of the American Musical with songs, stories about the composers and interesting tidbits on the creation of our favorite shows.

Harter created "A Night on the Town" in 1980 while working as an announcer at Kansas City's classical station featuring vintage Broadway, and quickly became Kansas City's top-rated local weekend program. In 1998, the show was picked up for national distribution by the WFMT Fine Arts Network.

Today, "A Night on the Town" is sponsored by the historic Algonquin Hotel in New York, and reaches thousands of listeners of all ages and economic levels. The show is distributed as part of the mission of Musical Theater Heritage: for the appreciation and awareness of the 100 years of the American Musical.

As a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, MTH is publicly supported. Grants and financial gifts for production costs are tax-deductible.
