InstruMental is a discussion of contemporary instrumental music, particularly in the realm of acoustic guitar performance. Since the days of Michael Hedges, extended technique on the acoustic guitar has become a mainstay for instrumental performance. Advances in both technique and technology have expanded the palette of sound available for instrumentalists. We'll be looking at the musicians who use them, and where their ideas come from.
