State Controlled Radio

State Controlled Radio is a weekly two hour program that chronicles and explores the world of popular music from the previous 100 years with a slant towards progressive politics and radical shifts of perspective. The program shifts from week-to-week between a hybrid interview/talk show format with musicians and artists, as well as a rotation of thematically linked musical programs that mix songs and sound bytes to tell non-linear stories. To date 171 programs have been produced and SCR celebrated its’ third anniversary on Valentine’s Day of 2009.
