Science at Work brings listeners into the laboratories and minds of the Woods Hole scientific community. The series explores the business of basic research - how and why scientists pose questions about the world, and how they go about answering them.

Woods Hole is home to world-class research institutions, including the Marine Biological Laboratory, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, and the Woods Hole Research Center. This 13-part series profiles some of the most exciting people and projects Woods Hole has to offer.

Series producer Heather Goldstone holds a Ph.D. in biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology-Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Joint Program in Oceanography and Applied Ocean Engineering. She has worked as a research scientist at several institutions, including MBL and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, in areas ranging from environmental and evolutionary biology to biomedical research.
