This Week in Texas Music History

Series produced by KUT

Each week, Texas music scholar Gary Hartman takes us on a brief journey in time, exploring the legends and stories behind what makes Texas music known the world over.

Willie Nelson, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Gene Autry - just a few of the monumental names in the lexicon of Texas music.

In this ongoing series from Austin`s acclaimed Texas Music Matters unit, Texas Music scholar Gary Hartman takes a unique historical approach in recounting the stories of many well known (and some mostly unsung) artists. These segments are rich with storytelling and sound and run one and a half minutes.

None of these segments need an intro and work great as interstitials. And KUT is offering these segments free of charge to PRX member stations.
