Join us today for the first part of this week's show on the upcoming Chinese New Year with special guest Ms. Peng Zeng, assistant director of the Children and Youth Program at the China Institute in New York.

We start with Ms. Peng Zeng: a native speaker of Mandarin, she holds holds a B.A. in English from Beijin Foreign Studies University in China, and an M.A. in Pacific International Affairs with a focus on China and non-profit management from the University of California. She has presented several times on Chinese language, teaching pedagogy at foreign language education conferences at the national level. Prior to joining the China Institute, Ms. Zeng worked as program director of Mandarin Chinese language immersion after-school and summer programs at Shuang Wen School.

Today we celebrate the Chinese New Year with special guest S. Alice Mong, director of the Museum of Chinese in America.

We continue with Ms. S. Alice Mong: she became director of the Museum of Chinese in America (MoCA) in July 2009, and is leading the 31-year-old organization's expansion into its new home - the leading national museum dedicated to preserving and presenting the history and culture of people of Chinese descent in America. She served as executive director for the Committee of 100, a non-profit membership organization composed of distinguished Chinese-American leaders committed to bridging the cultures of Asia and America, and providing a forum for issues that Americans of Asian descent face in bettering their lives in the United States. Under her leadership, the Committee grew its operating budget and raised more than $3.5 million in five years.

We continue our celebration of the Chinese New Year with special guest Baoshi Jin, assistant director of China National Tourist Office in New York.

We are joined by Mr. Baoshi Jin: he has worked at the China National Tourism Administration before his current position, serving as assistant director of China National Tourist Office (CNTO) in New York since March 2009. The CNTO is one of nineteen overseas tourist offices set up by the China National Tourist Administration. Its main function is to promote China as a tourist destination through various means and channels. Based in Beijing, the Administration is directly under the State Council of China, in charge of tourism policy, destination marketing, industry quality supervision, and tourism human resources education, with overseas offices in such major markets as Japan, Korea, Russia, the U.K., Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, India, and Nepal, as well as Hong Kong and Taipei.
