This is a remarkable 3 minutes

John Biewen does great work and has for a long time. This is one of the most moving 3 minutes i have ever heard. Do yourself a favor and listen. Do your listeners a favor and share it with them.

Scared...from the Daughter's point of view

I'll be honest, this made me a little teary. From a daughter's perspective and having gone through momentous phases while living with my father, I have come to realize (as much as I can from where I stand) the fears of a father. Since recognizing them I have developed my own fears of loosing him before I can show my gratitude completely. I appreciate him so fully for feeling what this 3 min audio portrays.

Magnificent!

I heard this piece today as part of the RadioLab "AV Smackdown" podcast. I was very moved by the content, and impressed by the extraordinarily skilled production -- particularly the music. I loved how the harmonic changes to the Eensy Weensy Spider mirrored how the piece didn't head exactly where I thought it would. I bought a Sony semi-pro walkman cassette recorder when my daughter was born, hoping to capture what John did.

Scared

I heard this piece at Third Coast in 2008. When I listened to it this time, I almost cried, thinking of how my sons are now 21 and 23 years old. Not many radio stories make me do that.
