SpiritHouse Inc. works to support the empowerment and transformation of communities most affected by racism, poverty, gender discrimination and the school to prison pipeline, through innovative grassroots programs, cultural arts, and community collaborations.
Youth Noise Network (YNN) is a youth media project formerly based at the Center for Documentary Studies and currently run by SpiritHouse Inc. As the media component of the Choosing Sides leadership program, YNN brings together a diverse group of Durham teenagers to produce media that addresses current community issues. Program participants learn various aspects of the documentary arts and produce their own audio documentaries.
